E-mail Program Instructions

Summary

To receive and send e-mail using the e-mail client program or mobile phone, first you have to create a Google Apps Mobile password.

If you use the Gmail mobile program (Android devices) – it is enough in the device (Gmail mobile program) to create a Google account: to specify your e-mail address (for example: anyname@stud.mruni.eu) and created Google Apps Mobile password.
If you are using another device or mail program, then keep reading.

Having connected to Google Mail through the browser, you must enable IMAP in your Gmail settings.

Here are the account parameters required by the mail program.

For receiving mail

Server address: imap.gmail.com
Protocol: IMAP
Security: SSL
Port: 993
Necessary authentication: yes
Login name – enter your e-mail address; for example: anyname@stud.mruni.eu
Password – Your created Google Apps Mobile password

For sending mail

Server address: smtp.gmail.com
Protocol: SMTP
Security: SSL
Port: 465
Necessary authentication: yes
Login name – write in your e-mail address; for example: anyname@stud.mruni.eu
Password – Your created Google Apps Mobile password

As a return address you need to enter the e-mail address that was issued to you (for example: if the user name is "anyname" then the return address is: anyname@stud.mruni.eu). If you enter another address, you will not be allowed to send out mail.
